The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Salvador Rico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ibon Santander having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sestao's Valery Incera got a free kick in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orti Zapico in the 10th minute of play forced Sestao's goalkeeper Ibon Santander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Ibon Santander successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 15 minutes into the game, Salvador Rico was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olot AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sestao the free kick. After a rather tough play, Olot AFC's Salvador Rico got a free kick in the 15th minute. A collision led to Olot AFC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Josete Urquijo hit a great ball. Sestao's Ibon Santander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Sestao from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Sestao's Valery Incera got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Orti Zapico struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ibon Santander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olot AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valery Incera in the 30th minute of play forced Olot AFC's goalkeeper Ariando Figueres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salvador Rico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ibon Santander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sestao's zone, Salvador Rico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ibon Santander came out of the goal and Salvador Rico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teobaldo Carceles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ariando Figueres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valery Incera kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Orti Zapico got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Salvador Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sestao's Herberto Azofra got a free kick in the 88th minute. When Salvador Rico came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Olot AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Rico couldn't finish the play. Sestao's Ibon Santander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Rico in the 91st minute of play. Gonzalo Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Ariando Figueres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sestao. After a rather tough play, Olot AFC's Alfronso Pareja got a free kick in the 97th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Olot AFC had won after a very even match.
