The audience was convinced that Angelino Barroso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Americo Cambero was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Damaso Rey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Zernin Rosas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Fuengirola AFC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Natanael Morales hit a great ball. Román Montes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Americo Cambero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 24 minutes, Román Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fuengirola AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Román Montes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelino Barroso struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Americo Cambero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fuengirola AFC. If Armando Cabezas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Orlo Verdaguer kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Armando Cabezas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Zernin Rosas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 41 played minutes Costa Nova FC got a freekick which was hit by Rosario Alvarez. Angelino Barroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Americo Cambero having to interfere. After some careless play in the Costa Nova FC defense, Angelino Barroso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Americo Cambero. The Costa Nova FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Americo Cambero should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Cabezas was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Damaso Rey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Nova FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Rey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zernin Rosas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fuengirola AFC's Zernin Rosas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Cabezas in the 62nd minute of play. Román Montes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Angelino Barroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Americo Cambero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
