Castulo Alonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Agusti Echeto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benidorm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agusti Echeto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Montgut's Víctor Bargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Madaleno Serena in the 21st minute of play. Madaleno Serena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Benidorm getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Frutos Solano hit a great ball. Castulo Alonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivón Fabelo having to interfere. The supporters of Montgut booed when Benidorm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frutos Solano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Montgut's Castulo Alonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivón Fabelo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Montgut booed when Benidorm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frutos Solano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Montgut was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Castulo Alonso to maneuver through the defense. After 34 minutes of play, Benidorm's Madaleno Serena made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Víctor Bargas was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th minute, Donatello Molina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Monte De la Torre made the kick off in the second half. Ivón Fabelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monte De la Torre in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Castulo Alonso made a precise shot to the right of Ivón Fabelo. Benidorm's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Monte De la Torre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivón Fabelo having to interfere. Ivón Fabelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Castulo Alonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Castulo Alonso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivón Fabelo having to make a save. After 67 minutes of play Benidorm's Frutos Solano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 68th minute, Frutos Solano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Montgut's Víctor Bargas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Montgut from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute Castulo Alonso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivón Fabelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Castulo Alonso in the 81st minute of play forced Benidorm's goalkeeper Ivón Fabelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Castulo Alonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montgut's supporters rose to their feet, but Castulo Alonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivón Fabelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Madaleno Serena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Víctor Bargas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josete Torrent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivón Fabelo having to interfere. If Monte De la Torre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
