Enrique Acedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliu Coello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrique Acedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Tato De Pedro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eliu Coello came out and tried to block the shot, but Tato De Pedro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. Alejandro Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enol Barrientos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliu Coello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tito Abajas in the 20th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Tito Abajas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tito Abajas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 24 minutes, Xose Incera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marines and the Las Chapas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Xose Incera hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Alejandro Marin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enol Barrientos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enol Barrientos was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Acedo in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliu Coello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Enrique Acedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marines's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Acedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliu Coello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Xose Incera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. Eliu Coello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
