Laurin Balcells showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alarico Carballido, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Quentin Zubizarreta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Joachim Correa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alifonso Bacete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Justo's late challenge caught a Solymar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emilio Justo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Solymar booed when Garrapinillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Justo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th match minute, Garrapinillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liberto Zabalo to maneuver through the defense. Laurin Balcells showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alarico Carballido in the 28th minute of the match. If Pablo Fresnos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Quentin Zubizarreta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Laurin Balcells was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alarico Carballido stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laurin Balcells took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alarico Carballido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quentin Zubizarreta scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Laurin Balcells, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Quentin Zubizarreta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurin Balcells having to interfere. A collision led to Garrapinillos getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Nicholas Rienda hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alarico Carballido in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurin Balcells saved Garrapinillos from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Solymar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Garrapinillos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
