In the 4th minute Gallo Estruch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lazaro Baltanas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Xirles! The referee gave Torre Nueva AFC a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cordarell Romero, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Xirles's Lazaro Baltanas. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Pericles Losantos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torre Nueva AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pericles Losantos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lazaro Baltanas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gallo Estruch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Lazaro Baltanas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Behe Beloki charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Behe Beloki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Xirles got a freekick which was hit by Behe Beloki. Gallo Estruch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lazaro Baltanas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pericles Losantos, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After the first half Torre Nueva AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gallo Estruch made a kick off. Lazaro Baltanas made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Gallo Estruch sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Xirles booed when Torre Nueva AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimo Llorente didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 60 minutes, Cordera Pascua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xirles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cordera Pascua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pericles Losantos struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Lazaro Baltanas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torre Nueva AFC. In the 64th minute, Gallo Estruch fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lazaro Baltanas, passed just outside the right post. Pericles Losantos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Lazaro Baltanas made a huge save. After having played for 67 minutes, Narciso Lozano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xirles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narciso Lozano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Pericles Losantos came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Torre Nueva AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pericles Losantos couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gallo Estruch kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lazaro Baltanas. That made the score 1-2 in the 95 minute of play. The Torre Nueva AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Torre Nueva AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
