In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elorriaga's goalkeeper Aldo Blanco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 19 minutes, Ladislao Cambero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elorriaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ladislao Cambero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Gómez charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Gómez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, Elorriaga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Gómez to maneuver through the defense. Elorriaga's Abel Gómez got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Mas in the 38th minute of play forced Elorriaga's goalkeeper Aldo Blanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislao Cambero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ladislao Cambero made a kick off. In the 64th of the match, Cayetano Mas tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Aldo Blanco got in the way and made a wonderful save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaitz Rapado got free with Aldo Blanco in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
