In the 7th minute, Esteban Cordoba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Santa Fé De Los Boliches's Flavio Nobo got control of the ball when Xabat Acosta tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Santa Fé De Los Boliches booed when Foz CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Montxo Sacristán didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nisio Grau charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nisio Grau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Foz CF's Nisio Grau got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 15 played minutes, Santa Fé De Los Boliches's Julio santillana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gil Diaz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santa Fé De Los Boliches reached it. After a rather tough play, Foz CF's Xabat Acosta got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quico Guerrero in the 22nd minute of play forced Foz CF's goalkeeper Gil Diaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Quico Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Fé De Los Boliches's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quico Guerrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quico Guerrero might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil Diaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Quico Guerrero ran back to his position shaking his head. Gil Diaz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joachim Rey's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Foz CF's Marino Solera got a free kick in the 26th minute. The supporters of Foz CF booed when Santa Fé De Los Boliches was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antimo Benítez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite this Flavio Nobo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Xabat Acosta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavio Nobo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joachim Rey was the one to do the kick off. Quico Guerrero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Diaz having to interfere. Foz CF's Gil Diaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Foz CF from getting a goal against them. In the 64th minute Joachim Rey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Diaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 66 minutes on the clock, Montxo Sacristán commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Gil Diaz made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Quico Guerrero sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 83 minutes, Nisio Grau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Foz CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nisio Grau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Foz CF's zone, Joachim Rey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Diaz came out of the goal and Joachim Rey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Foz CF's Gil Diaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Rey in the 90th minute of play. Quico Guerrero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Joachim Rey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Fé De Los Boliches's supporters rose to their feet, but Joachim Rey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Diaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Foz CF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Santa Fé De Los Boliches had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
