The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Henric Negro might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Loramendi Romero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henric Negro ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Tàrrega booed when Selva Brava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcio Puyol didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Chico Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Estrada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sancho Japón kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Loramendi Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amat Velazquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Amat Velazquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Loramendi Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Mazuste Zamora fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Selva Brava's protests and gave Mazuste Zamora a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tàrrega booed when Selva Brava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazuste Zamora didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amat Velazquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loramendi Romero having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Selva Brava's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Zapico came free, but Loramendi Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chico Machado made a kick off. Loramendi Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Zapico in the 54th minute of the match. Abel Zapico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Tàrrega getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Amat Velazquez hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute, Abel Zapico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Tàrrega's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Machado came free, but Roberto Estrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abel Zapico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 86th minute, Argider Roman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tàrrega fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Amat Velazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Selva Brava fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tàrrega were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
