Daniel Camacho struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Xuoco Medina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cermoño. In the 23rd minute, Juan-Alfredo Lillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Felipe Cordoba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Daniel Camacho came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cermoño fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Camacho couldn't finish the play. Nicanor Herrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frechoso Menendez in the 28th minute. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Frechoso Menendez took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Nicanor Herrero to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Girón booed when Cermoño was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gergori Saura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramos Rodriguez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ramos Rodriguez's late challenge caught a Cermoño's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramos Rodriguez helped the player get up and apologised. Sergio Valerón charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergio Valerón the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frechoso Menendez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anartz Crespo in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicanor Herrero saved Cermoño from getting behind. Frechoso Menendez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicanor Herrero having to make a save. Sergio Valerón kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. If Anartz Crespo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Cermoño's goal looked a bit too open when Anartz Crespo came free, but Nicanor Herrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Girón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frechoso Menendez to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, Frechoso Menendez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicanor Herrero. In the 98th minute Anartz Crespo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Herrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Girón fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cermoño had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
