Kiko Rojas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Arenys De Mar getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. After 13 played minutes Arenys De Mar got a freekick which was hit by Oliviero Camacho. After a rather tough play, Arenys De Mar's Artemio Castillo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Artemio Manrique sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the last second Aznar Nobo throw himself and got hold of the ball when Benvido Sainz in the 23rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 25 minutes into the match, Can Güell AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Benvido Sainz came free, but Aznar Nobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Artemio Manrique had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute Benvido Sainz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aznar Nobo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artemio Manrique fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko Rojas having to interfere. Arenys De Mar's Kiko Rojas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Manrique in the 35th minute of play. Rogelio Acedo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Aznar Nobo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Gorka Incera fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Can Güell AFC's protests and gave Gorka Incera a yellow card for diving instead. Gorka Incera kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Arenys De Mar's Benvido Sainz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aznar Nobo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aznar Nobo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benvido Sainz in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benvido Sainz to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Acedo in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aznar Nobo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arenys De Mar's Rogelio Acedo got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicolao Caballero charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolao Caballero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Arenys De Mar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolao Caballero to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benvido Sainz in the 70th minute of play forced Can Güell AFC's goalkeeper Aznar Nobo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Cainzos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko Rojas having to interfere. Gitano Puig hit a great ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
