Balaguer FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Serafín Ibanez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Serafín Ibanez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thomas Mayol quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute, Norino Bastida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Zapata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sotil Santalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Nono Gonzáles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Julián FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Karmel Clemente, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sotil Santalla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Zapata in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Julián FC's goalkeeper Sotil Santalla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 49th minute Ambrosio Marcilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Mayol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roberto Zapata was the one to do the kick off. When Ambrosio Marcilla came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the San Julián FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ambrosio Marcilla couldn't finish the play. Sotil Santalla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sotil Santalla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asteri Jubera, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Balaguer FC's Asteri Jubera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sotil Santalla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Natal Alabern fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balaguer FC's protests and gave Natal Alabern a yellow card for diving instead. Natal Alabern kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Serafín Ibanez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Balaguer FC's Thomas Mayol didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nono Gonzáles in the 94th minute of play forced Balaguer FC's goalkeeper Thomas Mayol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nono Gonzáles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The San Julián FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
