Montez Fuentes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Rosario having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, César Marines was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cuesta Blanca AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jalón FC the free kick. Fertus Salgado walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Montez Fuentes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudio Lastras charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudio Lastras the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claudio Lastras kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Manuel Baños had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 94 minutes into the match, Loramendi Campoamor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Louis Sacristán. Cuesta Blanca AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loramendi Campoamor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jalón FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cuesta Blanca AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
