Danilo Nueva came out of the goal and Leocadio Andres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danilo Nueva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xano Mora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Costa De La Calma's Lia Elguero got a free kick in the 15th minute. Xanti Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hitzeder Amer in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Medina Azahara booed when Costa De La Calma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lia Elguero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Leocadio Andres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Zigor Jimenez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Marco Acedo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danilo Nueva skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hitzeder Amer in the 39th minute of play forced Costa De La Calma's goalkeeper Xanti Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jesús Abellan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Danilo Nueva. Medina Azahara's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Leocadio Andres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leocadio Andres in the 49th minute of play forced Medina Azahara's goalkeeper Danilo Nueva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xano Mora to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Medina Azahara's Gregorio Coira got a free kick in the 56th minute. Xano Mora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Nueva having to interfere. After 60 minutes of play, Medina Azahara's Hitzeder Amer made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xanti Herrera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Xanti Herrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Rua, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. A collision led to Medina Azahara getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Hitzeder Amer hit a great ball. Costa De La Calma's Leocadio Andres got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Leocadio Andres made a precise shot to the right of Danilo Nueva. Medina Azahara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Xanti Herrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hitzeder Amer in the 90th minute of play. Costa De La Calma's Xanti Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Rua in the 93rd minute of play. Cristian Castan kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After 97 minutes Costa De La Calma's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Xavier De Pablo who took care of the corner kick. Medina Azahara succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Costa De La Calma had controlled the match.
