The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Danilo Nueva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zahar Navarro's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Hitzeder Amer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lawrence Lozano having to interfere. Medina Azahara's Danilo Nueva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Medina Azahara from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute of the match Xavier De Pablo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lawrence Lozano skillfully saved the ball. In the 20th minute, Zigor Jimenez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Yosua Redondo sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Danilo Nueva threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Yosua Redondo this time. In the 22nd match minute, Medina Azahara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zigor Jimenez to maneuver through the defense. Santiago Rua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Lawrence Lozano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilesindo Grau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Danilo Nueva having to make a save. When Zahar Navarro came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Altea La Vieja AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zahar Navarro couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 41 in the game by Gilesindo Grau from a close distance when the talented Danilo Nueva managed to make a qualified save. Medina Azahara's players were relieved. 45 minutes into the match, Medina Azahara's Hitzeder Amer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lawrence Lozano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilesindo Grau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Gilesindo Grau struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Danilo Nueva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altea La Vieja AFC. Danilo Nueva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilesindo Grau in the 61st minute of play. Danilo Nueva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zahar Navarro's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Urdin Alavedra kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Medina Azahara's Xiao Morientes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Xiao Morientes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Medina Azahara protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Xiao Morientes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. If Zahar Navarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilesindo Grau might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danilo Nueva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilesindo Grau ran back to his position shaking his head. Danilo Nueva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zahar Navarro went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Zahar Navarro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Danilo Nueva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Gilesindo Grau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altea La Vieja AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilesindo Grau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danilo Nueva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
