The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Severino Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mergildo Flores succeeded in the game's 5th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Porfiro Candamil hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Delgado during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Cortijillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Delgado to maneuver through the defense. Bartolomé Bargas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iñaki Bouzon's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Gero Jauregui left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Viator fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 23 minutes into the match, Viator's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Delgado came free, but Rogelio Palencia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th match minute, Cortijillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Porfiro Candamil to maneuver through the defense. Iñaki Bouzon had several of the Cortijillos's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 28 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Bartolomé Bargas as he didn't even see the shot coming. Severino Delgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Palencia having to interfere. Rogelio Palencia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mergildo Flores in the 45th minute of the match. Severino Delgado took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogelio Palencia. Rogelio Palencia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iñaki Bouzon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Zelipe Olano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Iñaki Bouzon made a precise shot to the right of Bartolomé Bargas. Cortijillos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Viator's Rogelio Palencia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zelipe Olano in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mergildo Flores got free with Rogelio Palencia in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Cortijillos's goal looked a bit too open when Gero Jauregui came free, but Bartolomé Bargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gero Jauregui in the 69th minute of play forced Cortijillos's goalkeeper Bartolomé Bargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Iñaki Bouzon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cortijillos getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Lolo Ziguenza hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Iñaki Bouzon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severino Delgado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogelio Palencia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Cortijillos's Severino Delgado got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Viator's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
