The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aristides Rivera charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aristides Rivera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd minute, Aristides Rivera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nagoi Odín in the 9th minute of play forced Gurb FC's goalkeeper Pepillo Rosas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Nagoi Odín dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pepillo Rosas, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Palomar in the 17th minute of play forced Dénia AFC's goalkeeper Melkor Pabon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dénia AFC were furious when Honorato Rojas was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Gurb FC a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joseba Barro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Dénia AFC's Melkor Pabon. 1-1. After 29 played minutes Gurb FC got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Vallejo. After 38 played minutes Gurb FC got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Vallejo. Llanos Sancho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Melkor Pabon. Dénia AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 41 minutes of play Dénia AFC's Aristides Rivera was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Aristides Rivera kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Palomar in the 46th minute of play forced Dénia AFC's goalkeeper Melkor Pabon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dénia AFC's zone, Xilo Barrios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melkor Pabon came out of the goal and Xilo Barrios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Benito Palomar made the kick off in the second half. If Benito Palomar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xilo Barrios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvaro Vallejo struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Melkor Pabon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gurb FC. After having played for 68 minutes, Benito Palomar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gurb FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benito Palomar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Melkor Pabon made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when James Avila sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvaro Vallejo during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benito Palomar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Melkor Pabon made a huge save. After having played for 88 minutes, James Avila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gurb FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but James Avila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Benito Palomar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Melkor Pabon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.
