After a defensive mix-up in Martindegi FC's zone, Denis Ladra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Tobias came out of the goal and Denis Ladra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egoi Vila hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Arratzain's Ibar Gene played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Alfaro in the 9th minute of play. Ibar Gene made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Alfaro in the 10th minute of play. A collision led to Arratzain getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Edur Escurza hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Arratzain's zone, Cleto Alfaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ibar Gene came out of the goal and Cleto Alfaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ibar Gene didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cleto Alfaro went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Arratzain's Sandro Barro got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Martindegi FC's Thiago Ramis, in the 28th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Martindegi FC. The supporters of Martindegi FC booed when Arratzain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lain Carballido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egoi Vila kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. If Cleto Alfaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Ramis in the 37th minute of play forced Arratzain's goalkeeper Ibar Gene to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Denis Ladra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Ladra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Marcelo Tobias when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cleto Alfaro to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Edur Escurza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th minute, Arratzain's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cordarell Mendez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Patricio Acarreta's late challenge caught a Martindegi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Acarreta helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes Arratzain got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Acarreta. 56 minutes into the match, Martindegi FC's Chan Arribas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 58th minute, Cleto Alfaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Arratzain booed when Martindegi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egoi Vila didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandro Barro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Tobias having to interfere. Marcelo Tobias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Barro, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After 71 played minutes Arratzain got a freekick which was hit by Nacho Ziguenza. Thiago Ramis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelo Tobias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denis Ladra's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Sandro Barro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Marcelo Tobias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Denis Ladra came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Arratzain fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Ladra couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the match, Martindegi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Barro came free, but Marcelo Tobias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cleto Alfaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Acarreta kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Ibar Gene was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Chan Arribas. The crowd rose to their feet as Martindegi FC's Cleto Alfaro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ibar Gene. That made the score 0-2 after 91 minutes of play. The Martindegi FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Martindegi FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
