The supporters of Garrapinillos AFC booed when Cartuja Baja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Bargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Cartuja Baja's goalkeeper Jeremias Gonzáles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Urtsin Castellano. Garrapinillos AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amaro Mora was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias Gonzáles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Haritz Ricoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonso Serra having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florentino Echavarri to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Haritz Ricoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Echavarri in the 56th minute of play forced Garrapinillos AFC's goalkeeper Alonso Serra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urtsin Castellano's late challenge caught a Cartuja Baja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
