Quico Huguet started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Pola getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Cugat Torres hit a great ball. The supporters of Pola booed when Defensor Sporting Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivón Feliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chepe Erosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicodemo Pena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chepe Erosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Quico Huguet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Nicodemo Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Salbatore Moreno got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Beti Blazquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardino Tormes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Salbatore Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hondo Perpiñán was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 44 minutes into the match. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pola! Bernardino Tormes went to the wrong direction when Ivón Feliu was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Salbatore Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernardino Tormes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salbatore Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardino Tormes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beti Blazquez went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Arrosko Sierra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Salbatore Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Defensor Sporting Uruguay getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Honorio Manzano hit a great ball. Bernardino Tormes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salbatore Moreno in the 77th minute of play. Chepe Erosa struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Nicodemo Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pola. Defensor Sporting Uruguay's Nicodemo Pena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Defensor Sporting Uruguay from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Pola's Chepe Erosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicodemo Pena. Nicodemo Pena yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. If Chepe Erosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Salbatore Moreno scored 2-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardino Tormes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Salbatore Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardino Tormes having to interfere.
