In the 6th match minute, Maire City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xaiver Abad to maneuver through the defense. Maire City's Aresti Babia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nastasio Tobias in the 8th minute of play. Aresti Babia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nastasio Tobias, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Nastasio Tobias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvar Feliu kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Maire City's Belisario Beloki got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Juan Ribas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Nastasio Tobias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aresti Babia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 minutes, Piorno Navas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maire City and the SSC Napoli players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nastasio Tobias received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aresti Babia came out and tried to block the shot, but Nastasio Tobias slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nastasio Tobias to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Chano Ortega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belisario Beloki didn't quite understand what happened when in the 54 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Xaiver Abad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SSC Napoli's Norino Cifuentes got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Norino Cifuentes off the ground. 63 minutes into the match, Eleuterio Fernandez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emilio Aceves, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eleuterio Fernandez in the 68th minute of play forced SSC Napoli's goalkeeper Emilio Aceves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Piorno Navas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. Alvaro Arraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aresti Babia having to interfere. When Xaiver Abad fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maire City's protests and gave Xaiver Abad a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th match minute, Maire City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xaiver Abad to maneuver through the defense. SSC Napoli's Emilio Aceves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save SSC Napoli from getting a goal against them. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
