Edilberto Carballido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko Helguera having to interfere. Jose-Enrique Arraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafín Justo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Tobias in the 19th minute of play forced Avia's goalkeeper Artemio Alfaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serafín Justo to make the kick off. Bao Lopez de Toro's late challenge caught a Avia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Nabar Zurica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kiko Helguera was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. The match ended with a win for CA Osasuna.
