Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Abertura's Xantalen Baños started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Almería AFC booed when Abertura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geleberto Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xantalen Baños in the 13th minute of play forced Almería AFC's goalkeeper Etor Obis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Charro Toxeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaizko Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gaizko Moreno took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Timo Pujol. Gaizko Moreno who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Timo Pujol when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gaitan Saura hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Gaizko Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Damaso Folch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almería AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Folch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timo Pujol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 37 minutes, Damaso Folch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Almería AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damaso Folch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st match minute, Almería AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Folch to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
