La Macedoniana's Quico Zárate proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save La Macedoniana from getting a goal against them. Boni Cuadrado charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. La Macedoniana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brothers Union the free kick. After a rather tough play, La Macedoniana's Ferran Soto got a free kick in the 91st minute. Michel Valdés fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quico Zárate having to interfere. When Ubarna Villa fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brothers Union's protests and gave Ubarna Villa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute, Ubarna Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
