After 17 played minutes Retamar got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Quevedo. 25 minutes into the match, Retamar's goal looked a bit too open when Erlantz Castelao came free, but Hanni Herrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Leon's late challenge caught a Los Montoyas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Omar Leon helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Retamar got a freekick which was hit by Omar Leon. Hondo Zubiaga kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Celino Carreira notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Retamar's Hanni Herrera. Hanni Herrera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joselito Serra was the one to do the kick off. If Joselito Serra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celino Carreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee felt a red card was in order, 60 minutes into the game, when Porfiro Aznar put in a rough tackle. In the 59th minute, one of Los Montoyas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Los Montoyas. The referee gave Retamar a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Silvio Abascal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Montoyas's Pepito Cardeñosa. 1-2. In the 67th minute Joselito Serra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepito Cardeñosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Dagoberto Gonzales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Montoyas's supporters rose to their feet, but Dagoberto Gonzales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hanni Herrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Retamar getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Raymond Quevedo hit a great ball. Dagoberto Gonzales recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leo Lastras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Camara kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Raymond Quevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Leo Lastras came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Los Montoyas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Lastras couldn't finish the play. If Erlantz Castelao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagoberto Gonzales might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hanni Herrera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Gonzales ran back to his position shaking his head. Los Montoyas's Dagoberto Gonzales got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Leo Lastras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 98th minute, Erlantz Castelao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Los Montoyas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Retamar throughout the match.
