Unai Gonzáles made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Baiardo Lermo sent off a good shot on target. Poli Jauregui hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Rodrigo Tobia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amador Palacios might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ceferino Canosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amador Palacios ran back to his position shaking his head. Isaias Ucero hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, Amador Palacios notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Palencia River's Ceferino Canosa. Ceferino Canosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Amador Palacios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Canosa having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Los hijos de Amunike eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
