The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute Dabi Llorca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alifonso Macho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Xantalen Mendez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alifonso Macho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dabi Llorca in the 15th minute of the match. Alifonso Macho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dabi Llorca showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Xesc Abril sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haroldo Rosario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Furman Verdaguer, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Furman Verdaguer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Rosario having to interfere. The supporters of Ud Folgueiro booed when Medina Azahara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eron Quintanilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo Rosario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Furman Verdaguer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manolito Lacorte might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haroldo Rosario. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manolito Lacorte ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Medina Azahara FC defense, Furman Verdaguer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Rosario. The Medina Azahara FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Rosario should have stopped the shot. Vladimir Martínez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alifonso Macho having to interfere. Medina Azahara FC's Dabi Llorca got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Florian Radaban fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Medina Azahara FC's protests and gave Florian Radaban a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Medina Azahara FC's Florian Radaban got a free kick in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes Medina Azahara FC got a freekick which was hit by Florian Radaban. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After having played for 80 minutes, Furman Verdaguer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ud Folgueiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Furman Verdaguer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Furman Verdaguer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ud Folgueiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Furman Verdaguer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Rosario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ud Folgueiro. Medina Azahara FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ud Folgueiro had controlled the match.
