The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chano Gene made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quexal Bodelon in the 9th minute of play. Quexal Bodelon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chano Gene read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Manlleu's Silvano Elguero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Manlleu from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Silvano Elguero successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aniceto Bencoiechea was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Barreiros AD's goal looked a bit too open when Quexal Bodelon came free, but Chano Gene reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chano Gene took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quexal Bodelon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Quexal Bodelon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chano Gene saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Quexal Bodelon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dani Zapater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chano Gene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dani Zapater, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quexal Bodelon made a kick off. After 54 minutes, Miliano Sobrado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barreiros AD and the Manlleu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Miliano Sobrado hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute of the match Israel Mayor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chano Gene skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Dani Zapater could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Chano Gene however easily saved by the left post. When Barreiros AD's Marcelo Rivas in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Manlleu's goalie prevented a goal. Lluc Adán's late challenge caught a Barreiros AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lluc Adán helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Manlleu getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Lluc Adán hit a great ball. Agusti Jaen might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvano Elguero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agusti Jaen ran back to his position shaking his head. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barreiros AD! When the match had been going on for 78 minutes, Manlleu's Israel Mayor got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Chano Gene. Dani Zapater's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Chano Gene skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Manlleu booed when Barreiros AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Doblas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dani Zapater might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chano Gene. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dani Zapater ran back to his position shaking his head. Dani Zapater received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Chano Gene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Manlleu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
