When Xove Talavera fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ameztia FC's protests and gave Xove Talavera a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ameztia FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Xove Talavera hit a great ball. Aratz Turienzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Mas having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Aratz Turienzo made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Mas. Ameztia FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Aniceto Torrent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Contratas in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Cobra.F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Quilo Pais. A collision led to Ameztia FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Tato Beloki hit a great ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ameztia FC's goalkeeper Rafael Mas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Noé Turienzo charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noé Turienzo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rafael Mas went to the wrong direction when Dominic Benedicto was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Cobra.F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Aratz Turienzo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Mas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gitano Fabelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Cobra.F.C. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
