The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Epicuro Palencia during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of U.D OVETENSE booed when Castropol SAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epicuro Palencia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Edmundo Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute of the match, Santos Tiadoro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Amador Benítez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. U.D OVETENSE's Ivo Náhlik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gomesano Moya in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match Epicuro Palencia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivo Náhlik skillfully saved the ball. Ivo Náhlik didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vistruario Galego went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Castropol SAD's Amador Benítez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Castropol SAD from getting a goal against them.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Berto Llinares was the one to do the kick off. Amador Benítez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marciano Elguero in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Castropol SAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gomesano Moya to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to U.D OVETENSE getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Marciano Elguero hit a great ball. Ivo Náhlik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vistruario Galego, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Amador Benítez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Elguero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U.D OVETENSE's Ivo Náhlik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vistruario Galego in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U.D OVETENSE's Marciano Elguero got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 81 minutes of play, U.D OVETENSE's Marciano Elguero made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amador Benítez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amador Benítez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santos Tiadoro in the 84th minute of the match. Castropol SAD's Mario Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Castropol SAD booed when U.D OVETENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrej Taks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeru Santiago struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Ivo Náhlik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castropol SAD. Amador Benítez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ladislao Rey hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Castropol SAD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Castropol SAD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
