Gregorio Salazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Goyo Verdaguer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abarrotz Barrientos struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Gregorio Salazar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HG F.C. Goyo Verdaguer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Salazar having to interfere. After 16 played minutes HG F.C got a freekick which was hit by Luar Radaban. Agusti Urquijo struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Xavián Unzaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villanueva De La Cañada SAD. A collision led to HG F.C getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Mauro Saboya hit a great ball. Fermín Campomanes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavián Unzaga having to interfere. After 23 played minutes HG F.C got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Saboya. Xavián Unzaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pericles Camarasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 35th minute Pericles Camarasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavián Unzaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Goyo Verdaguer lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Gregorio Salazar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Goyo Verdaguer to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yiyo Marines in the 68th minute of play forced Villanueva De La Cañada SAD's goalkeeper Gregorio Salazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Goyo Verdaguer in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregorio Salazar saved Villanueva De La Cañada SAD from getting behind.
