They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cristian Sancho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-8 to the left of a surprised Damián Martínez 91 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damián Martínez having to interfere. Ecuador played a much better game than Oberá and deserved their victory. The Oberá players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
