Lalo Teresa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Polo Carballeira in the 12th minute of the match. A collision led to Rayo Cordobés getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Cristo Garate hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Cutberto Amer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lalo Teresa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pio Patiño during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Rayo Cordobés:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Independiente:s goal. Cutberto Amer walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 19 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Polo Carballeira. Loramendi Duran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lalo Teresa having to interfere. Loramendi Duran struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Lalo Teresa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. After 29 minutes of play, Independiente's Rodrigo Zafrilla made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lalo Teresa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd minute, Loramendi Duran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Polo Carballeira scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lalo Teresa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Rayo Cordobés's Pio Patiño got a free kick in the 39th minute. Rayo Cordobés's attentive Cristo Garate managed to snatch the ball when Carlos Bartumeu made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. Montez Pujol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pio Patiño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Pere Ferrer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Zafrilla was the one to do the kick off. Montez Pujol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dalmai Incera hit a great ball. Montez Pujol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Pere Ferrer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Zafrilla to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 59 minutes, Montez Pujol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rayo Cordobés's supporters crossed their fingers, but Montez Pujol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cristo Garate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lalo Teresa made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Loramendi Duran sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Rayo Cordobés's Lalo Teresa got control of the ball when Polo Carballeira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute, Pio Patiño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lalo Teresa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmai Incera in the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Dalmai Incera dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lalo Teresa, 0-4. Cristo Garate struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Pere Ferrer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rayo Cordobés. When Dalmai Incera fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Dalmai Incera a yellow card for diving instead. Dalmai Incera kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Loramendi Duran hit a great ball. Lalo Teresa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Zafrilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Montez Pujol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pere Ferrer having to interfere. Pio Patiño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Independiente walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
