After a defensive mix-up in Villareal FC's zone, Ruperto Leon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaizki Serena came out of the goal and Ruperto Leon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the game, Ruperto Leon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jaizki Serena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Calella De Palafrugell AFC's Ruperto Leon in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Wilfredo Zapater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilen Aranzubia having to interfere. Ruperto Leon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jaizki Serena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cordaro Bueno in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaizki Serena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ruperto Leon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaizki Serena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cordaro Bueno in the 37th minute of the match. After the first half Calella De Palafrugell AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cordaro Bueno to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Ruperto Leon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calella De Palafrugell AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruperto Leon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaizki Serena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cordaro Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match Ruperto Leon climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-2 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Jaizki Serena. Prometeo Carballeira kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After having played for 68 minutes, Cordaro Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calella De Palafrugell AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cordaro Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Cordaro Bueno put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jaizki Serena. Ruperto Leon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Jaizki Serena skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Prometeo Carballeira fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villareal FC's protests and gave Prometeo Carballeira a yellow card for diving instead. Clodio Marques's late challenge caught a Calella De Palafrugell AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clodio Marques helped the player get up and apologised. Villareal FC's Jaizki Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cordaro Bueno in the 88th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cordaro Bueno in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaizki Serena saved Villareal FC from getting behind. Jaizki Serena made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Ruperto Leon sent off a good shot on target. Calella De Palafrugell AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
