Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Saturnino Olmos started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubarna Sanz in the 4th minute of play forced Benicalap's goalkeeper Alfonso Maestro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Ubarna Sanz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Maestro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Garrigas booed when Benicalap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arlo Puyol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benicalap's Alfonso Maestro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Olmos in the 16th minute of play. Alfonso Maestro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Olmos, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Ubarna Sanz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfonso Maestro. Benicalap's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ubarna Sanz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Gerardo Barba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Pio santillana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Garrigas getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Amato Camacho hit a great ball. Joselito Valerón, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Alfonso Maestro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saturnino Olmos went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Alfonso Maestro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ubarna Sanz's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Saturnino Olmos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Maestro having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Ubarna Sanz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Garrigas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Benicalap the free kick. The supporters of Benicalap booed when Garrigas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fermín Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Elisardo Diaz came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Benicalap fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elisardo Diaz couldn't finish the play. 73 minutes into the match, Benicalap's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Olmos came free, but Alfonso Maestro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Saturnino Olmos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Maestro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ubarna Sanz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfonso Maestro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Alfonso Maestro was a little too slow when Saturnino Olmos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-4. When Fermín Pena came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Garrigas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermín Pena couldn't finish the play. Xavian Beloki hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Ubarna Sanz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garrigas's supporters rose to their feet, but Ubarna Sanz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Maestro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfonso Maestro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Olmos, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
