Andrei Treviño took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Magdaleno Silva. Xeresa SD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Angel Carmona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lolo Roig having to interfere. Bernal Castelao hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carolo Ortega in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lolo Roig saved Vilajuïga from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Xeresa SD's Carolo Ortega sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lolo Roig narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, Carolo Ortega recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lolo Roig. Carolo Ortega showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 33 played minutes Vilajuïga got a freekick which was hit by Xian Colsa. Bernal Castelao's late challenge caught a Xeresa SD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernal Castelao helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vilajuïga's Bernal Castelao got a free kick in the 35th minute. A hard shot 37 in the game by Cidro Marquez from a close distance when the talented Lolo Roig managed to make a qualified save. Vilajuïga's players were relieved. Vilajuïga's Lolo Roig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Ortega in the 43rd minute of play. In the 50th minute Lauro Acosta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magdaleno Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carolo Ortega was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Vilajuïga's goal looked a bit too open when Carolo Ortega came free, but Lolo Roig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Lauro Acosta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vilajuïga's supporters rose to their feet, but Lauro Acosta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magdaleno Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xeresa SD's goalkeeper Magdaleno Silva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xian Colsa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Magdaleno Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delfino Reyes during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Xeresa SD's Cidro Marquez got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Edelmiro Revuelta struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Magdaleno Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilajuïga. Lauro Acosta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Magdaleno Silva having to make a save. Magdaleno Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edelmiro Revuelta in the 67th minute. Paulin Echavarri kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Magdaleno Silva made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Edelmiro Revuelta sent off a good shot on target. Joanes Prieto kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Lauro Acosta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Magdaleno Silva, 1-1. Gero Estrada kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Edelmiro Revuelta struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Magdaleno Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilajuïga. Lauro Acosta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lolo Roig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carolo Ortega, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Edelmiro Revuelta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Vilajuïga left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Xeresa SD.
