Romulo Sabina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolfos Prats having to interfere. After 15 minutes, Kiko Urbieta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chimeneas UD and the Grañon AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Chimeneas UD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Urbieta to maneuver through the defense. Dolfos Prats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Llorienzo Labarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Chimeneas UD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elvis Ricoy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Blai Turrilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvis Ricoy in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Grañon AFC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Llorienzo Labarra hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the match was over Chimeneas UD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Grañon AFC throughout the match.
