If Amancio Munoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Retamar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Cañadas came free, but Batista Delgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eleazar Checa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, one of USAL:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for USAL. Tacito Lastras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Munoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Retamar FC's Amancio Munoz in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USAL's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Retamar FC defense, Pepe Sobrado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Batista Delgado. The Retamar FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Batista Delgado should have stopped the shot. Oto Cainzos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Retamar FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With an all-out effort, Retamar FC's Tacito Lastras threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oto Cainzos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Oto Cainzos struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Tacito Lastras didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Retamar FC. A collision led to USAL getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. José Sánchez hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, USAL's goal looked a bit too open when Oto Cainzos came free, but Tacito Lastras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tacito Lastras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oto Cainzos in the 62nd minute of play. When Retamar FC's Oto Cainzos in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USAL's goalie prevented a goal. In the 75th minute Oto Cainzos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tacito Lastras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Retamar FC's Amancio Munoz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tacito Lastras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute Oto Cainzos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tacito Lastras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 minutes, Severino Domingo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the USAL and the Retamar FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Retamar FC booed when USAL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Domingo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oto Cainzos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Amancio Munoz came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Retamar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amancio Munoz couldn't finish the play. Oto Cainzos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Tacito Lastras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, USAL's goalkeeper Tacito Lastras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amancio Munoz. Amancio Munoz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tacito Lastras having to make a save. Eligio Sanz hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Retamar FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
