Aurelio Palomares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Araoz Ponte, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Aritz Unzueta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manu Quevedo in the 11th minute of play. Aritz Unzueta made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Leonel Gonzáles sent off a good shot on target. 18 minutes into the game, Zeledon Barrientos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laguelika's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mendiola the free kick. The supporters of Mendiola booed when Laguelika was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Barrientos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mendiola's Miro Cainzos got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aurelio Palomares came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Mendiola's Araoz Ponte. But to his dismay, Araoz Ponte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Aurelio Palomares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Araoz Ponte in the 28th minute of the match. Aritz Unzueta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manu Quevedo in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Laguelika's goal looked a bit too open when Miro Cainzos came free, but Aurelio Palomares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miro Cainzos took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Palomares. Aurelio Palomares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Aurelio Palomares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Araoz Ponte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miro Cainzos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Manu Quevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aritz Unzueta. Mendiola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manu Quevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Aurelio Palomares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Araoz Ponte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 minutes of play, Laguelika's Manu Quevedo made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aritz Unzueta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Araoz Ponte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Aurelio Palomares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Araoz Ponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Palomares having to interfere. Leonel Gonzáles's late challenge caught a Mendiola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonel Gonzáles helped the player get up and apologised. Miro Cainzoss short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Aurelio Palomares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aurelio Palomares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Araoz Ponte in the 74th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Laguelika's goalkeeper Aurelio Palomares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Asdrubal Izquierdo. After having played for 82 minutes, Araoz Ponte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mendiola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Araoz Ponte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Laguelika's zone, Araoz Ponte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Palomares came out of the goal and Araoz Ponte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miro Cainzos in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aurelio Palomares, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 91 minutes of play, Mendiola's Miro Cainzos made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurelio Palomares was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 96 played minutes Mendiola got a freekick which was hit by Miro Cainzos.
