Sabin Ramirez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Zacarías Pastor made a huge save. Sabin Ramirez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sabin Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th match minute, El Porrosillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julián Mendez to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, U.D. Mediterranea's goalkeeper Zacarías Pastor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sabin Ramirez. Zacarías Pastor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julián Mendez in the 22nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes El Porrosillo got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Beloki. Pepillo Soto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Toxeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Baltanas in the 40th minute of play forced El Porrosillo's goalkeeper Pepillo Soto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julián Mendez in the 42nd minute of play forced U.D. Mediterranea's goalkeeper Zacarías Pastor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepillo Soto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Octavio Barral's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, El Porrosillo's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Barral came free, but Pepillo Soto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octavio Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pepillo Soto having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julián Mendez to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, El Porrosillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramón Ocaña to maneuver through the defense. When Pablo Toxeiro came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the U.D. Mediterranea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Toxeiro couldn't finish the play. In the 58thth minute of the game Sabin Ramirez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U.D. Mediterranea's Zacarías Pastor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 66 minutes into the match, El Porrosillo's goalkeeper Pepillo Soto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Octavio Barral. 68 minutes into the match, U.D. Mediterranea's goal looked a bit too open when Julián Mendez came free, but Zacarías Pastor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julián Mendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Zacarías Pastor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabin Ramirez in the 85th minute of play forced U.D. Mediterranea's goalkeeper Zacarías Pastor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of El Porrosillo booed when U.D. Mediterranea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evelio Dominguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aitor Rossello hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Octavio Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The El Porrosillo fans cheered their team off the field, for while U.D. Mediterranea had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
