In the 3rd match minute, Sopeña CD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pancho Bouzas to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Sopeña CD getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Rafael De Pedro hit a great ball. Sotil Abellan's shot from long distance in the 5th minute was not bad at all, but Sopeña CD's Pepito Suarez knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Oriche Morcego received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Liberto Sánchez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oriche Morcego in the 10th minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Liberto Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12thth minute of the game Pascual Martínez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Girona FC's Liberto Sánchez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pascual Martínez took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Liberto Sánchez. Liberto Sánchez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Liberto Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascual Martínez in the 18th minute of the match. Liberto Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oriche Morcego, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pacorro Fresnos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Pepito Suarez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Oriche Morcego shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liberto Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Asier Benedicto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Girona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Asier Benedicto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute of the match, Asier Benedicto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pepito Suarez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Oriche Morcego received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Liberto Sánchez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pascual Martínez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Asier Benedicto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walme Lozano kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Asier Benedicto to make the kick off. Asier Benedicto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pascual Martínez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Oriche Morcego fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Oriche Morcego recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liberto Sánchez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oriche Morcego in the 67th minute. If Oriche Morcego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Pacorro Fresnos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Girona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pacorro Fresnos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepito Suarez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pancho Bouzas kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Pacorro Fresnos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Girona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pacorro Fresnos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepito Suarez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute, Pascual Martínez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute of the game, Donzel Sacristán landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Rafael De Pedro hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Pacorro Fresnos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pepito Suarez having to interfere. If Oriche Morcego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pancho Bouzas during the 99th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 100th match minute, Sopeña CD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pancho Bouzas to maneuver through the defense. Pacorro Fresnos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pepito Suarez having to interfere. Sopeña CD's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
