But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Argenis Jubera couldn't finish the play. Serafín Bellido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Zapatero in the 15th minute of the match. Victorino Castan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Frodo Quintanilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Argenis Jubera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serafín Bellido was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After 42 played minutes, Zubia F.C.'s Dolfo Pedriza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Serafín Bellido came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zubia F.C. reached it. In the 44th minute, Argenis Jubera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arsenio Cainzos's late challenge caught a El Clú's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arsenio Cainzos helped the player get up and apologised. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ciro Zapatero to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Zubia F.C.'s Argenis Jubera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafín Bellido made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ciro Zapatero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Argenis Jubera might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Serafín Bellido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Argenis Jubera ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 90th minute Ciro Zapatero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafín Bellido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ciro Zapatero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serafín Bellido. That made the score 0-2 in the 92 minute of play. Arsenio Cainzos was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 99th minute of the match El Clú got a corner. Zubia F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lawrence Harroyo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Lawrence Harroyo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Zubia F.C.'s Frodo Quintanilla did a great save. Zubia F.C. played a much better game than El Clú and deserved their victory. The El Clú players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
