Maximiliano Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Meirama CF's zone, Gai Castaño stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cilio Maroto came out of the goal and Gai Castaño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cilio Maroto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gai Castaño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urbano Vazquez got free with Cilio Maroto in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Urbano Vazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 minutes, Mariano Bencoiechea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meirama CF and the Segorbe players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Meirama CF got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Bencoiechea. Urbano Vazquez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Cilio Maroto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastián Herrera in the 26th minute of play forced Segorbe's goalkeeper Lucas Perpiñán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Gai Castaño managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Segorbe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gai Castaño was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Urbano Vazquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cilio Maroto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Urbano Vazquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cilio Maroto having to interfere. Gai Castaño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Cilio Maroto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Meirama CF's Maximiliano Campos got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
In the 70th minute, Maximiliano Campos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Perpiñán was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 74th minute, Gai Castaño left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Segorbe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gai Castaño in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cilio Maroto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Gai Castaño notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Meirama CF's Cilio Maroto. Cilio Maroto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Meirama CF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Segorbe.
