El Cocon's Fabricio Lillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amador Romero in the 13th minute of play. After 15 minutes El Cocon's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rufino Fonticoba who took care of the corner kick. Gaibor's Rufino Fonticoba was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fabricio Lillo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Vincente Dorado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier De la Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gaibor's Vincente Dorado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarías Mezquita in the 21st minute of play. Fabricio Lillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iago Bouzon in the 22nd minute. When El Cocon's Zacarías Mezquita in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Gaibor getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Michel Campos hit a great ball. Javier De la Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Vincente Dorado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Amador Romero made the kick off in the second half. Javier De la Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the last second Vincente Dorado throw himself and got hold of the ball when Javier De la Rosa in the 57thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Gaibor's Iago Bouzon in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Cocon's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Aballe during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes El Cocon got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Aballe. Fabricio Lillo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amador Romero went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 65th minute, Zuberoa Crespo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zacarías Mezquita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Vincente Dorado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Javier De la Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Vincente Dorado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El Cocon's Rafael Aballe got his second yellow card of the match in the 76th minute. The referee ordered Rafael Aballe off the ground. In the 78th minute, Amador Romero made a precise shot to the right of Fabricio Lillo. El Cocon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Zacarías Mezquita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Vincente Dorado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 87 minutes into the match, Zacarías Mezquita notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Gaibor's Vincente Dorado. Vincente Dorado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Gaibor players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
