The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Real Madrid c.f.'s Xulio Dulce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Real Madrid c.f. from getting a goal against them. Real Madrid c.f.'s Xulio Dulce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Poncio Barrientos in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fermín Feria in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fiz Rubio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fiz Rubio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egoitz Escobar, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Fermín Feria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Xilo Mendez fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Madrid c.f.'s protests and gave Xilo Mendez a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot 25 in the game by Duardo Cañadas from a close distance when the talented Xulio Dulce managed to make a qualified save. Real Madrid c.f.'s players were relieved. Fermín Feria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tino Cambero shot from long distance in the 34th minute, but Xulio Dulce was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 44 minutes into the match, Fermín Feria notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Il Dolce Far Niente's Fiz Rubio. Fiz Rubio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Poncio Barrientos to strike the kick off in the second half. Fiz Rubio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermín Feria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Real Madrid c.f.'s Abel Japón dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. 58 minutes into the match, Real Madrid c.f.'s goal looked a bit too open when Duardo Cañadas came free, but Xulio Dulce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gero Comas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xulio Dulce having to interfere. 64 minutes in the game, Fermín Feria fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fiz Rubio having to interfere. Urko Jubera's late challenge caught a Real Madrid c.f.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urko Jubera helped the player get up and apologised. Urko Jubera kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Fiz Rubio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Egoitz Escobar came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fiz Rubio could save by the left post. Angelo Barberá kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Egoitz Escobar in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fiz Rubio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fiz Rubio made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Egoitz Escobar sent off a good shot on target. If Duardo Cañadas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid c.f.'s Xilo Mendez got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After 86 minutes, Poncio Barrientos made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Real Madrid c.f.'s Xulio Dulce tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fiz Rubio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fermín Feria, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Egoitz Escobar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiz Rubio having to interfere.
