After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Silvestre Escobar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Fe's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvestre Escobar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florinio Pantoja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zuri Castaño struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Florinio Pantoja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Fe. Florinio Pantoja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zuri Castaño in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, C.D. Dragones Negros's goal looked a bit too open when Zuri Castaño came free, but Florinio Pantoja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Conrado Morera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Jauregui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florinio Pantoja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aznaro Abrego in the 23rd minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Niceto Viqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.D. Dragones Negros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Fe the free kick. Zuri Castaño placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The supporters of C.D. Dragones Negros booed when Santa Fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Jurado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonel Jauregui made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conrado Morera in the 38th minute. Santa Fe's Isidro Jurado got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 44 minutes, Aznaro Abrego managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Fe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aznaro Abrego was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zuri Castaño made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Prudencio Sobera notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Santa Fe's Leonel Jauregui. Leonel Jauregui was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57th minute, Zuri Castaño ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Florinio Pantoja was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Santa Fe's Leonel Jauregui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Sampil in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Zigor Coya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonel Jauregui. Santa Fe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zigor Coya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. A collision led to C.D. Dragones Negros getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Landolfo Zabalo hit a great ball. In the 69th match minute, C.D. Dragones Negros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Viqueira to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute Aldo Sampil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Jauregui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonel Jauregui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Sampil, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Sampil in the 84th minute of play forced Santa Fe's goalkeeper Leonel Jauregui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Jauregui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Sampil in the 89th minute of play. If Zuri Castaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prudencio Sobera hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Zuri Castaño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Florinio Pantoja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Santa Fe's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Santa Fe may have spent more time on the ball, but C.D. Dragones Negros were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
