Gregorio Fernandez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Gitano Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximo Ermengol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leandro Reyes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Sandro Cardeñosa hit a great ball. Leandro Reyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Escurza in the 68th minute of the match. Maximo Ermengol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Leandro Reyes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Graciano Benito was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. Arturo Escurza might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leandro Reyes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Monistrol De Montserrat CD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Escurza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
