Ermegildo Sampil might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fridolin Vega. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermegildo Sampil ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Fridolin Vega managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Arrate's Santiago Guasch fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Ermegildo Sampil took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Fridolin Vega to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in JUAN PABLO II's zone, Santiago Guasch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fridolin Vega came out of the goal and Santiago Guasch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fridolin Vega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermegildo Sampil, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Fridolin Vega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermegildo Sampil in the 24th minute of play. JUAN PABLO II's Fridolin Vega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermegildo Sampil in the 25th minute of play. Fridolin Vega was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ermegildo Sampil showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 27 minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Inautzi Cardeñosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JUAN PABLO II's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arrate the free kick. 34 minutes into the match, Arrate's Santiago Guasch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fridolin Vega narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Santiago Guasch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fridolin Vega read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Ermegildo Sampil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Fridolin Vega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ermegildo Sampil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the game, Ermegildo Sampil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Fridolin Vega was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alvaro Aguilar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Inautzi Gimenez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fridolin Vega stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ermegildo Sampil's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. In the 90th match minute, JUAN PABLO II was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Aguilar to maneuver through the defense. The referee gave Arrate a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Padro Rua, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of JUAN PABLO II's Fridolin Vega. 5-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the JUAN PABLO II players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Arrate.
