An unexpectedly hard shot by Cruz Gomar in the 14th minute of play forced San Martin De Trevejo's goalkeeper Amuruza Espinosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Benigno Gonzalvez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ST Mendratten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Martin De Trevejo the free kick. Benigno Gonzalvez kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. ST Mendratten's Narciso Bodelon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save ST Mendratten from getting a goal against them. Amuruza Espinosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Perez in the 25th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kiko Perez in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amuruza Espinosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the game, Kiko Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ST Mendratten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Martin De Trevejo the free kick. After 30 played minutes ST Mendratten got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Perez. In the 33rd minute, Anko Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, ST Mendratten's goalkeeper Narciso Bodelon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pirro Marines. Narciso Bodelon acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Benigno Grau. Benigno Gonzalvez was shown his second yellow card after 40 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to ST Mendratten getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Benigno Gonzalvez hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Cruz Gomar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ST Mendratten fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pirro Marines was the one to do the kick off. Cruz Gomar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Amuruza Espinosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quique Quesada's late challenge caught a ST Mendratten's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Quique Quesada helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cruz Gomar got free with Amuruza Espinosa in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sergi Bouzon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pirro Marines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Bodelon having to interfere. A collision led to ST Mendratten getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Kiko Perez hit a great ball. Pirro Marines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Pancho Cabrera fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Martin De Trevejo's protests and gave Pancho Cabrera a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, San Martin De Trevejo's Pancho Cabrera got a free kick in the 96th minute. The ST Mendratten supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ST Mendratten would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
