After having played for 19 minutes, Indar Elguero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Rubial FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Indar Elguero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alonso Marcos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pancho Aceves in the 21st minute of the match. If Pancho Aceves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eutropio Casillas kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Eutropio Casillas was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 31 played minutes NEWPI got a freekick which was hit by Eutropio Casillas. If Indar Elguero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Indar Elguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in NEWPI's zone, Pancho Aceves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonso Marcos came out of the goal and Pancho Aceves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 43 minutes of play, El Rubial FC's Indar Elguero made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alonso Marcos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Haimar Justo made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Pancho Aceves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alonso Marcos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in NEWPI's zone, Indar Elguero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonso Marcos came out of the goal and Indar Elguero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Haimar Justo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Indar Elguero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alonso Marcos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Indar Elguero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched El Rubial FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
